Dear Arctium Community,
this is not an easy one but let's just go straight to the point:
From effectively now on Arctium is not going to release any World of Warcraft or Blizzard-related tools anymore.
We know this will probably hit some of you hard, especially the current Retail World of Warcraft modding community, but our focus has changed and we need to stay true to what we believe is more important.
Our focus will mostly shift to Wildstar, which includes Client and Server development.
But why?
Our passion for Wildstar was and is just stronger. We didn't give the waiting Wildstar Community the focus they deserved and didn't make as much progress on the serverside as we initially wanted. We want to say sorry for that. Time is such a limiting factor and we didn't prioritize wildstar high enough, since Wow tools were taking a lot of time to develop and maintain. Soon Wildstar's shutdown will be 3 years ago and we just want it back.
Another side project we are thinking about for years now is something we're internally calling Arctium DB (or MMO Nexus, which is another project title) which is planned as an alternative and modern website for your latest MMO related News and Datamining information. Basically, the go-to website for MMO's that everyone deserves.
This project is currently not under active development as we shift the focus primarily to Wildstar, but if we find time and the motivation it's most likely that we continue working on this.
What happens to my favorite tool?
Since we won't provide any further updates to any Wow or Blizzard-related tool starting today, the tools will eventually break and stop working. However, you can still download them for 4 weeks. On December 24th we will remove all downloads related to Wow and Blizzard tools from our website.
The exception is the Wow-Launcher Repository on Github. That one will stay up for everyone to fork and download.
Arctium Community
We are still gamers, developers, and modders and continue to welcome wow players and Blizz fans (even if it's hard to be one these days) alike. We will still have wow sections on our discord and talk about our favorite Blizz games regardless of whether we release new tools for these games or not!
Again... we want to say sorry to all our users, especially the modding community since there're currently no working alternatives to our tools, but this is our final decision and we believe it's the right thing to do.
Stay healthy, Your Arctium Team
TL;DR: Arctium is not going to release and update wow / blizzard tools anymore. You can still download our tools until the 24th of December. We're going to remove all related downloads from our website and shift the focus to working on wildstar client and server development.
